PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BEIRUT COORDINATES WITH LEBANESE INTERNAL SECURITY OFFICIALS ON ASSISTANCE FOR OFWs DURING EMERGENCY SITUATION

Charge d’ Affaires and Consul General Gilberto G.B. Asuque (4TH from L) of the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon paid a courtesy call on General Achraf Rifi, Director General of the Internal Security Forces (ISF), Ministry of Interior, and other ISF ranking officials on 13 May 2008, to coordinate with Lebanese authorities on measures that will ensure the safety and welfare of Filipinos during emergencies.

During a call at the ISF Headquarters in Beirut, General Rifi assured CDA Asuque of the ISF’s assistance in putting Filipinos out of harms way. General Joseph Al Hajal, Chief of Staff of the ISF, and Col. Fadi Al Hachem, Head of International Relations Department, ISF, (1st/2nd from R), who joined General Rifi during the meeting, offered their assistance even at short notice for any emergency needs of the Embassy and the OFWs.

Attaché Gerry Monteras, OIC POLO/OWWA Annie Israel and Vice Consul Jeffrey Salik (1st to 3rd R) joined CDA Asuque during the call on the ISF officials. DFA News
