DFA: Consular outreach program in Al Khobar March 21-22 canceled
The consular outreach program for Filipinos in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia this March has been canceled, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
In an article on its website, the DFA said the "Embassy on Wheels" scheduled for March 21 to 22 in Al Khobar "has been cancelled due to the non-availability of the venue."
"The applicants who will be affected by the re-scheduling of appointments will be informed via email and phone call (if their contact details are available). They are again advised to confirm their new schedules through the Embassy’s website atwww.philembassy-riyadh.org," it said.
The DFA said the next Embassy on Wheels will be on March 7 to 8 at the Al Jazeerah International Philippine School at Al Rakah, Al Khobar.
It said applicants for renewal of passport who secured an appointment for the said dates will be re-scheduled and served either on March 7 and 8 or on March 28 and 29.
Passport applicants
The DFA also reminded all passport applicants to book an appointment through the Embassy’s website to avoid refusal of their applications.
Extension of the validity of passports is no longer allowed, based on DFA regulations, except in the following instances:
"In these instances, proof of urgency such as copy of the death certificate, medical certificate, final exit or letter of the employer indicating that the Filipino employee will leave the Kingdom on final exit, along with plane tickets with confirmed flight details shall be presented," the DFA said. - VVP, GMA News
