MANILA - A dazed Filipina caregiver arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Monday from Singapore.
The caregiver, whose name was withheld, arrived at 4 a.m. on board Tiger Airlines. Airport guards noticed the OFW roaming the arrival area after most of the passengers had gone home.
When approached, the Pinay could not even provide airport security her name. She was brought to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration counter for assistance.
OWWA Airport representative Neil Chua said that based on the OFW’s passport, she departed Manila barely four months ago. She used a visit visa when entering Singapore.
Chua was able to contact the OFW’s parents who later picked her at the airport.

Her mother said she received a text message from her daughter just last Sunday. In the message, her daughter complained that she was being harassed by her employment agent.

OWWA advised the OFW’s family to file a complaint against the employment agency that illegally deployed her to Singapore under a tourist visa.
