Iconic Sinulog Festival goes to the UAE

The United Cebuanos, in partnership with GMA Network thru GMA Pinoy TV, is bringing an iconic Philippine festival overseas this January 16 with Sinulog sa UAE 2015.

The Sinulog Festival, considered to be the “mother of all festivals in the Philippines”, is a commemoration of the Filipino’s rejection of animism and acceptance of Christianity. With Sinulog sa UAE 2015, members of the Filipino community abroad can now join in on the festivities and benefit from the unique experience one can only get from an authentic Filipino festival.

The civic organization United Cebuanos spearheads Sinulog sa UAE 2015. This non-profit, non-governmental, and non-sectarian organization made up of active professional and non-professional Cebuanos residing and working in the United Arab Emirates aims to promote camaraderie among Cebuanos, engagement in social activities among members of the Filipino community, business collaboration and employment opportunities, and unselfish service to humanity as a whole.

The Sinulog sa UAE 2015 event is a whole-day affair that will showcase the vibrant and entertaining facets of the Filipino culture. Some of the event’s highlights include the Dance Parade Competition, Festival Queen, Photo Competition, Bazaar, and Face and Maskara Paintings. The event is expected to draw thousands of Filipinos and foreigners who yearn to familiarize themselves more with Filipino customs and traditions.

Sinulog sa UAE 2015 will be held at the SAFA Stadium, Dubai, UAE on January 16, 2015. Gates open at 8 AM.
