Pinoy rescued off sunken cargo ship being brought to Vietnam

A Filipino rescued off a cargo ship that sank off Vietnam last Friday is due to arrive in Vietnam Sunday.

The Filipino crewmember - a chief cook - is to arrive there along with two bodies recovered from the site, GMA News' Victoria Tulad tweeted.

Search and rescue operations are still ongoing for at least 16 other crewmembers of the cargo vessel.

The Bahamas-flagged ship Bulk Jupiter, manned by an all-Filipino crew, sank in the East Vietnam Sea on Friday. Two members of the crew had already been confirmed dead as of Sunday.

Meanwhile, manpower management firm Magsaysay Maritime Corp., which hired the seafarers, is waiting for a report to explain the vessel's sinking.  Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
