332 Saudi-based OFWs now registered to vote in 2016

A total of 332 Filipinos in Saudi Arabia are now registered to vote in the 2016 elections, after they availed of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh's overseas voting mobile registration.

The embassy said the registration was held March 27 and 28 at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam in the eastern region.

It said the team registered 292 new overseas voters, 39 certification, and one reactivation of inactive overseas voter record.

Also, five applicants who are still active voters of Riyadh-Al Khobar were recorded.

The next mobile registration is scheduled April 10 to 11 at Al Jazeera International School in Dammam.

Meanwhile, the embassy's mobile consular service dubbed "Embassy on Wheels" provided 1,301 consular services in Al Khobar.

It provided 1,299 consular services in the Eastern Province, including 388 passport renewals, 34 passport extensions, and 350 notarials and authentication.

Also, it extended two travel documents and 21 reports of birth, and released 506 new e-passports. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
