RWO XII Celebrates Labor Day with DOLE RCC XII and ITCs
Koronadal City – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office XII (OWWA RWO XII) headed by OIC, Regional Director Marilou M. Sumalinog participated in the sports festival, a first, for the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Coordinating Council (DOLE RCC XII) and the Industrial Tripartite Council (ITC) in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region in commemoration of Labor Day on May 1, 2015 held at the South Cotabato Sports Complex in Koronadal City.
 
The event was participated by organized ITCs in the region including wholesale and retail, plantation, manufacturing, fishing, academe, tourism, construction industries with the DOLE RCC XII.
 
According to DOLE RO XII Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo, the sports activity will highlight the various ITCs’ strong support to the DOLE and its programs and services.
 
South Cotabato Provincial Governor Daisy P. Avance-Fuentes, who was one of the honored guests lauded the DOLE XII for the activity, while utilizing the occasion as a venue to remind employers to share what is fair to their employees, for them (employers) to continue being successful in the business. “Your employees need to be treated equally and as you continue to share your blessings to them, they will also continue to be productive for your industry,” Fuentes said.
 
Also, gracing the activity was DOLE Assistant Secretary Ma. Joji V. Aragon who shared in her message that the activity could probably boost the DOLE’s efforts to achieve the outcome of sustained cooperation between labor and management sectors. “This sportsfest will definitely unite the different ITCs in the region which could translate to stronger support to the DOLE”, Aragon said.
 
Participating ITCs and the DOLE RCC XII competed in various games and contests such as basketball, volleyball, quiz bee, sack race, and tug-of-war.

An exciting match between the DOLE RCC XII team and ITC Academe brought thrill and suspense to the cheering audience.
 
To ensure fair and just deliberation of results, Sumalinog coordinated with the Koronadal Philippine Basketball Association (KorPBA) headed by Mr. Dante C. Dichoso for the efficient facilitation of the sports activity.
 
Concluding part of the activity hailed the ITC Fishing and Allied Services, victor of the DOLE RCC XII and ITCs Sports Festival 2015.
