Duterte tasks adviser to ensure immediate return of stranded OFWs in Saudi

President Rodrigo Duterte has tasked Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) Abdullah Mamao to assist stranded workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affected by retrenchments amid the oil crisis plaguing construction companies.
On Tuesday, presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo said the situation of OFWs in Saudi were among the issues discussed during the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
“‘Yung stranded [kailangan] tulungan agad immediately.
Mamao had just taken his oath of office, along with other appointed officials, before Duterte on Monday afternoon.
Panelo said Duterte proposed that the government use a chartered plane to ensure the safe return of OFWs.
Panelo assured that employment awaits the skilled OFWs upon their return to the country.  Kathrina Charmaine Alvarez/RSJ, GMA News
