NEW YORK - After receiving the Individual of the Year Award for Special Education in Inclusive Practices from the Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education in Alaska, once again, Special Education Teacher Dale Aller Ebcas is recognized as the 2024 Educator of the Year in the State of Alaska.
Originally from Cagayan de Oro City and now in his fourth year of teaching in Alaska, Ebcas has earned respect for his dedication to teaching and his commitment to inclusivity, particularly his dedication to teaching kids with different exceptionalities.
Ebcas is the School District's Unified Sports Coordinator and Coach for basketball, bowling, and badminton at his school.
His leadership in these roles emphasizes inclusivity, integrating students with and without disabilities, and fostering a sense of teamwork and community. His advocacy efforts are crucial in promoting inclusive educational practices throughout the district.
The State of Alaska Department of Education Commissioner Deenah Bishop personally congratulated Ebcas for his exceptional dedication to teaching students at Gregory Elementary School in the Kalskag Kuspuk School District in Alaska, USA.
The Educator of the Year award ceremony not only recognized Ebcas but also celebrated the significant contributions of the top 20 educators, who were nominated from various parts of Alaska.
Ebcas told GMA Integrated News that he dedicated the award to his students:
“This recognition is for my students—I love you all! You are my daily inspiration. I have no doubt that with the right interventions and support, each of you will find success in life," Ebcas said.
"You are the reason I strive to be better every day. Teaching is a profound responsibility, blessed with rewards and its fair share of challenges. Yet, I firmly believe in the immense value of our profession; we shape not just minds but the futures of individuals who will one day lead our nation," he added —VAL, GMA Integrated News
