She put up a water technology facility and a consultancy and construction firm as businesses and acquired several properties in three different cities.

Capt. Alberto Aguila and family from NCR under the sea-based category. Aguila spent 20 years at sea and poured his savings into lots, vehicles, and apartment rentals.

Marilou Collo and family from CAR under the land-based category. Collo spent 15 years in Libya and Saudi Arabia as a nurse with her agriculturist husband before coming home to set up an ukay-kay, a brand-new goods store, a grocery, and a palay trading center. Five out of six of her children are now OFWs.

Silvino Calica Jr. and family from CAR under the sea-based category. A seaman for 39 years, he now manages a general merchandise store, four apartment units, and agricultural lands for lease with his family.

Engr. Robert Ranchez and family from Region 1 were named the Model OFW Family of the Year under the land-based category. Ranchez spent 10 years in Saudi Arabia as a contract worker before coming home to operate a boarding house, baker, rent-avan service, and water refilling station. He was previously awarded with the 2015 Melvin Jones Fellow Award by the Lions Club International Foundationa and a Special Recignition Award by the city government of La Union.

Francisco Flores and family from Region 1 under the sea-based category. Flores worked as a wiper and oiler for a ship and worked various jobs at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before opening the Hidden Garden and Lilong & Lilang Restaurant in Vigan.

Jocelyn Danao and family from Region 2 under the land-based category. A domestic helper in Hong Kong for 10 years, Danao now provides counseling to distressed OFWs at the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office of Penablanca as well as a rice milling operation in Nabbabalayan.

Leogie Lapat and family from Region 2 under the sea-based category. With 23 years in the sea, Lapat retired in 2014 to help his family manage the operations of their three hectare-agricultural land and fingerling production.

Igmedio Reyes and family from Region 3 under the land-based category. Reyes worked as a contract worker in Saudi Arabia and Libya for 22 years before establishing the Electrotechnical Institute, the first TESDA-accredited instrumentation & control school and assessment center in central Luzon.

Robert Guansing and family from Region 3 under the sea-based category receive a special award for their Outstanding Achievement in Community Projects. Guansing ended his 30-year career as BOSUN in 2010 to help his family run LCG Veterinary Trading and RVG Trading. He and his family received the Lion Leader Award and the Melvin Jones Fellow from the Lions Club International Foundation.

Emily Dicolen-Abagat and family from Region 4-A under the land-based category. A widower and an Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of Daegu in South Korea, she manages the Aquinas Education Enhancement Center with her family. She was awarded as the 2010 Most Outstanding Filipino Overseas, Banaag Category by the Office of the President of the Philippines, and Most Outstanding Filipino in Korea, and the Gawad Giovanni B. Jaron by the Filipino EPS community.

Teodoro de Jose Rosello's family from region 4-A under the sea-based category accepts the award on his behalf. Rosello is an active seafarer for 25 years and currently serves as a second officer. His family operates a dental clinic and invests in real estate properties.

Mercy Porquez and family from Region 4-B under the land-based category. Porquez worked as an ICU Nurse in the Middle East for 36 years and was consistently named Best Nurse before acquiring properties and growing plantation crops, generating employment for local farmers in Narra.

Capt. Efren Evangelista's family from region 4-A under the sea-based category accepts the award on their behalf. Evangelista serves as a master mariner at the Mastrbulk - Wesfall-Larsen and was awarded with a certificate for his 25 years in the company. His family manages real investment and crop plantation.

Hanshel Ricasio's family from region 5 under the land-based category accepts the award on their behalf. Ricasio, an engineer, moved to Qatar after a brief stint in Singapore. His family manages the Balogo Farm Resort.

Capt. Aquiles Figueroa and family from Region 5 under the sea-based category. Figueroa was a seafarer for 35 years and operates a rice mill and other agricultural properties in Sorsogon.

Marvie Dugayo and family from region 6under the land-based category. Dugayo currently works as a Warranty Administrator for an automotive company in Riyadh. His family was able to set up Marvie's Cakes and Pastries in Talisay City with his income.

Nestor Tubongbanua's family from region 6 receives the Model OFW Family of the Year under the sea-based category on his behalf. A bosun, Tubongbanua's McNester Food Products began with a P7,000 capital and has since then been featured by newsmagazine programs and anchors such as Jessica Soho, among others.

Homer Balais and family from Region 7 under the land-based category. Balais retired after working as a surveyer and a civil supervisor in the Middle East to stay at home with his family after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Bohol.

Arch. Raymond Tobio's family from region 8 under the land-based category accepts the award on their behalf. Tobio currently works as a consultant at Saudi Arabia and manages a travel and tours business on the side while his family manages their water refilling and small-scale hog-raising business.

Jeffrey Fuentebella Singson and family from region 9 under the land-based category. Singson followed his nurse wife to Saudi Arabia in 2005 and worked with her to expand the Philippine Professiona Organizations in Saudi Arabia. He received the Bagong Bayani Award for Community and Social Service in 2014 for his community efforts.

Manuel Bayog and his wife from region 9 under the sea-based category. Bayog became a quarter master after three years of service and retired to manage his family's mango growing and production, buy and sell, and board and lodging businesses in Zamboanga City.

Adelfo Saura and family from region 10 under the land-based category. Saura and his family managed to acquire various residential and agricultural lands and business enterprises with after working for 27 years in Saudi Arabia.

Capt. Nanchito Zuniga and family from region 10 under the sea-based category. Zuniga's work since 1989 allowed his family to own agricultural land, a three-storey house, an internet cafe, and service vehicles.

Engr. Donald Tapispisan and family from region 11 under the land-based category. Tapispisan spent 17 years in Saudi Arabia and managed to acquire agricultural lands, and a lechon and ice candy business.

Engr. Mauro Deocadez and family from region 12 under the land-based category. Deocadez spent 22 years in Saudi Arabia for his wife and six children, who now help him manage farm lands, real estate properties, and vehicles.

Sabtal worked for four years in Saudi Arabia and was helped by her husband to acquire various land and business ventures to reach millions in their net worth.

Anao Madag and family from ARMM under the sea-based category. After 38 years as a seafarer, Madag's family now owns a six-room home, tricycles, a grocery store, and farm lands.

Juan Laferez and family from CARAGA under the land-based category. Alferez worked in Papua New Guinea for 16 years to send his seven children to school and was able to acquire two coconut plantations and passenger vans.

Hilario Turla and family from CARAGA under the sea-based category. Turla toiled for 20 years as a seafarer. His family practices organic farming and integrated multi cropping, resulting in vermiculture production, organic farming, rubber plantation, tilapia farming, fruits, vegetable and coconut production, palm tree plantation, and oil production.
