Gen Z’s favorite haunts in Kuwait ---- By Ghadeer Ghloum

“Man oh man! What a wonderful place it is!” said Abdulrahman, expressing his excitement for one of the places he mentioned to Kuwait Times. In a country that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, youths of Generation Z have discovered exciting destinations to explore in Kuwait. From the bustling streets of Kuwait City to the serene beauty of the desert, this generation is redefining where to go in Kuwait. To dive into the favorite places Gen Z loves to explore in Kuwait, uncovering hidden gems and igniting the spirit of adventure, Kuwait Times joined a group of youngsters that leave one inspired! Abdullah, a 22-year-old college student, said he does not like going to regular places for fun in Kuwait, like malls. Instead, he enjoys doing things that keep him physically active, like going to the shooting range, which is his favorite place. He also enjoys watching intense car races at Kuwait Motor Town. Another place he likes to go to is Al-Shaheed Park. He goes there with friends or sometimes by himself to enjoy the open spaces, walk around and relax amidst the greenery, especially in the morning. When Abdullah wants to eat out or go for coffee, he prefers local places that are not too crowded and are standalone rather than in malls. Abdulrahman, a 20-year-old college student, said he tends to go on getaways with his friends to explore Kuwait’s desert. “I love to go on group trips to Salmi desert. Man oh man, what a wonderful place it is there! I recommend going there at least once to see the stars, which you can actually see with the naked eye!” he enthused. Like Abdullah, Abdulrahman prefers to be physically engaged. “I also go to paintball fields and water parks. I sometimes go to horror-themed escape rooms,” he said. Awrad, a 16-year-old high school student, has a mix of outdoor and indoor places she loves to go to in Kuwait. “I am obsessed with animals, so most of my time is spent exploring farms in Kuwait. We also have our own private farm in Wafra. I spend most of my holidays in Wafra, as the new farms and fun stuff being built there leaves me no time to get bored or feel the need to go back to the city,” she said. However, Awrad says that staying in Wafra is inconvenient during school days, hence, she has to move back to her house. When in town, she goes to places like Warehouse mall, Sabahiya amusement park and The Avenues for leisure. Hour, a 15-year-old high school student and bookworm, told Kuwait Times her favorite thing is exploring a bookstore. Being an avid reader, Hour loves to get lost among books, emphasizing that Jareer Bookstore is her favorite thus far. She also loves going to The Avenues mall, as it has everything she needs, whether it is shopping, buying groceries and even indoor play zones, as well as restaurants, coffeeshops, cinemas, etc. She also loves going to Shaheed Park. “It’s a really nice place to take a walk. It’s not your ordinary park — it has cafes and beautiful greenery too!” Hour exclaimed.
