OFW rescued from abusive employer in Oman --- By GMA Integrated News
A mother sounded the call for help for her daughter in Oman who is being maltreated by her employer.
According to a "24 Oras" report by Emil Sumangil, "Teresa" said she could no longer bear the suffering of her daughter, "Julia," who told her that she was being beaten, detained, and denied food by her employer.
Teresa said Julia has been working for the foreigner for two years. The overseas Filipino worker (OFW) noticed the change in her employer in September last year.
GMA's Kapuso Action Man referred the matter to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which immediately took action.
Last January 20, Julia arrived in the country to be reunited with her family.
Cacdac said Julia will also receive assistance from the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
Julia thanked the government and all parties who helped her return home. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
