Businessman's vehicle catches fire, snarls traffic near NAIA
Traffic near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was snarled on Monday noon after a business's sport utility vehicle caught fire while leaving the NAIA Terminal 1 area in Pasay City.
No one was reported hurt in the incident, which caused traffic along a major part of the road near NAIA, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported.
A fire truck from the Manila International Airport Authority spread foam over the affected area to keep the fire from spreading.
The vehicle, a Serena-type sport utility vehicle (XEA-383) belonging to businessman Alberto Sta. Ana, was gutted in the fire.
A separate dzBB report quoted Sta. Ana as saying the vehicle's battery may have shorted and sparked the fire.
Sta. Ana said seven people were aboard the vehicle when it caught fire.
He said he bought the vehicle secondhand. - VVP, GMA News
