POEA suspends recruiter for trying to deploy 6 helpers as office workers
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has suspended a recruiter for trying to deploy six household service workers as office workers and salespersons.
POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac ordered the suspension of the license of CAZ International Inc., after initiating a complaint against the firm motu propio
Immigration personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 1 had stopped the six women from boarding their respective flights after they admitted they would work as domestic workers.
Cacdac said CAZ International lied to the POEA and tried to circumvent the rules on the recruitment and deployment of HSWs.
He said the firm "was not forthright in its representations to the POEA regarding the employment status of their recruited OFWs."
"They submitted for processing documents indicating different job positions, compared to their really intended jobs as domestic workers," he said. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
