Pinay, 69, dies after being hit by car in San Diego
A 69-year-old Filipino woman died last week after she was hit by a car while crossing an intersection in San Diego, a report on The San Diego Union-Tribune said.
Cecilia Quenery Valdez was hit by a Mazda Miata driven by a 22-year-old man after leaving a Dairy Mart at San Ysidro Boulevard past 9 p.m. on May 11.
A report on NBC News said Valdez was attempting to cross the street outside a crosswalk "in between cars" when she was hit by the Miata and thrown "about 30 feet into the air."
A spot report on the incident, which described the victim as a "a 69 year old married Filipino female," said paramedics tried to revive Valdez multiple times, "but despite resuscitative efforts death was pronounced at the scene."
Her next of kin has already been informed by the San Diego Police Department. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
