Two Pinoys killed in truck accident in Palau — DFA

Two Filipinos were killed and one was injured in a vehicle accident in Palau last week, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Thursday.
The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, which has jurisdiction over Palau Islands, said three Filipinos figured in an accident involving a flatbed truck that lost control and fell into the sea in Palau on September 29. Two died and one survived.
No further details were provided by the DFA, but said Philippine officials are working closely with Palau authorities for the immediate shipment of the remains of the victims as well as to obtain additional information on the accident.
"Based on initial investigation, Palau authorities do not believe there was foul play involved during the accident," the DFA said.
The Filipinos’ employers, the DFA said, will shoulder the cost of shipping the remains back to Manila and that the consulate is ready to provide assistance to the survivor as needed. — Michaela del Callar/RSJ, GMA News
