Japan to take steps against coronavirus worth 15.3 billion yen - Abe
TOKYO - Japan will take emergency steps against the spread of the new coronavirus worth 15.3 billion yen (P7 billion), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Thursday.
The amount includes 10.3 billion yen from reserve funds in the state budget, Abe said, adding that the Cabinet will approve its use on Friday.
As face masks are in short supply across the country, Abe said the government aims to secure over 600 million units a month by encouraging companies to boost output.
