2012 MOFYA REGIONAL SCREENING AND SELECTION





Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) recognizes the outstanding achievements of Overseas Filipino Workers and Family in the field of education, finances, and community involvement while maintaining not only close but strong family ties. The Model OFW Family of the Year Award (MOFYA) is an annual search for model families representing all 17 regions in the country. OWWA will now have its 8th year of witnessing and celebrating the success stories of our OFWs in their battle against challenges of migration.

Each region shall have 2 MOFYA winners representing the land-based and the sea-based category. OWWA Regional Welfare Office I (RWOI) has 7 candidates for the 2012 Regional MOFYA with 5 land-based and 2 sea-based contenders.

2012 MOFYA Regional Screening and Selection were held on September 28, 2012 at the conference section of OWWA RWOI. Members of the Screening and Selection Committee are as follows:

Copy of nominees’ profiles and rating sheets were given to the judges a week before the scheduled screening and selection for review and assessment. On the day of the judging, each nominee undergone a Q&A portion with the members of the committee.

The result of the 2012 MOFYA Regional Screening and Selection will be announced on the Regional Awarding Ceremony which will be held on October 4, 2012 at the Max’s Restaurant, City of San Fernando, La Union. Regional Winners for the land-based and sea-based category will represent Region I in the National Search which will be held in Manila.
