24 Pinoys intercepted off Sabah –report
Malaysian marine police have arrested 24 undocumented Filipinos who allegedly tried to enter the Sabah area illegally, Malaysia's Bernama news agency reported Monday.
The Bernama report quoted Sabah Marine Police Region 4 commander Mohamad Madun as saying the detained Filipinos were aged 15 to 60.
It said the Filipinos were arrested Sunday in three operations off Pulau Mentabuan and Pulau Bohey Dulang.
Citing initial information, it said 20 of the 24 were men and teenagers. Of the four women, one was carrying a one-year-old child.
It said the 24 were aboard three pump boats when they were intercepted between 10:35 a.m. and noon.
The marine police referred the 24 Filipinos to the Immigration Department for further action. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
