Pinoy sa Amerika: Snapshots of Filipino Lives in the USA

Pinoy sa Amerika is a GMA News Online series featuring pictures from award-winning photographer Rick Rocamora, who aims to capture snapshots of Filipinos' lives as they make their way through the United States. Check back regularly on this page to catch new entries in the series.
 
Rick Rocamora has won awards for his images and picture stories from the Asian American Journalists Association, the San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association, the New California Media, the Media Alliance, and Photophilantrophy.org.
 
His work about Filipino World War II veterans won awards from the California Arts Council Art Fellowship and a Local Bay Area Heroes Award from KQED and Union Bank of California. His work has been published in national and international print and online publications and widely exhibited in national and international museums and galleries. His work is part of the permanent collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts, the U.S. State Department Art in Embassies program, and private and institutional collectors.
