Application deadline for Australian scholarships extended

The Australian government has extended its deadline for the Australia Awards to allow more Filipino students to apply for the yearly scholarship program.
Students now have until November 30 to apply for the chance to pursue their Masters or PhD in any Australian university for academic year 2017.
Applicants must be a Filipino citizen, have at least two years work experience, a bachelor's degree, single and not engaged to be married, and have no pending residency or citizenship application in other countries.
They must also be willing to sign a contract with the Australian government and sign and enact a Re-entry Action Plan. [Click here for other application details]
“Returning scholars are required to implement a development project, also called a re-entry action plan or a REAP, in their workplaces or in their chosen beneficiaries, usually local non-profits or non-government organisations,” Ambassador Amanda Gorely said.
Interested applicants may attend the briefing at the auditorium of the PHIVOLCS Building on the University of the Philippines - Diliman campus on October 5. Wednesday, at 2 p.m.
