Healthcare specialists are highest paid overseas workers — jobs portal
Jobs in the healthcare sector are the highest paid specialization for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), online jobs platform WorkAbroad.ph said Wednesday.
In the 2016 Overseas Jobs and Salary Report, WorkAbroad.ph noted overseas Filipinos in the healthcare field, particularly doctors, receive an average monthly salary of P111,620.
Jobs in process design and control are the next highest paid with an average monthly income of P87,027. Public relations and communications specialists are the third highest paid at P83,375 a month.

Demand remains strong
The United Arab Emirates is the highest paying country of destination for overseas workers in the healthcare sector, the report noted.
According to WorkAbroad.ph, a doctor in the UAE earns as much as P253,826 a month.

Jobs in the engineering sector are the most in-demand specialization with 30,972 posted vacancies recorded January to September.
A total of 117,696 OFW jobs were offered in the same period, with Saudi Arabia having the most deployment at 46,026 jobs or 39 percent of the total.
WorkAbroad.ph Business Unit Manager Rhea Suiza told reporters in a press conference that Saudi Arabia remained a major market for jobs despite the financial crisis.
She said the demand is coming mainly from private employers while jobs in the government are affected by the crisis.
For his part, Philippine Overseas Employment Association (POEA) Director Robert Larco said the demand for jobs in the services sector is still high as only oil-based industries are affected.
