POEA warns vs new permit-to-work coaching scam
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration over the weekend warned prospective overseas Filipino workers against a new permit-to-work coaching scam.
In a post on its Facebook account, the POEA said the email-based scam targets Filipinos seeking jobs as health care workers in Canada.
"Another 'permit to work coaching' scam! Please ignore if you received this e-mail," it said.
The POEA said the email claims to be from Saint Elizabeth Health Care, and informs recipients they were chosen for the position of a Registered Nurse.
It said the email instructed the recipients to attend the "Permit to work Coaching" on Jan. 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Citing the email, the POEA said the scam promises a deployment date anytime in May 2014.
However, the recipients are told to pay a coaching fee of P3,720.
