Coro San Benildo triumphant at int’l competition in Wales
Coro San Benildo has captivated the world once again, this time at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales.
The Benildean choir took first place in the competition's Youth Choirs category and placed second in the Adult Folk Song Choirs category. Tenor choir member Mark Christian Bautista, meanwhile, ranked second in the Open Folk Solo Category.
Coro San Benildo previously received international acclaim in 2012, winning in the 1st Xinghai Choir Competition at Guangzhou, China.
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has been held annually since 1947 and sees around 4,000 performers onstage every year.
This year, the Bob Cole Conservatory Chamber Choir from the US took home the competition's biggest prize, the Pavarotti Trophy for the Choir of the World category. — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News
