Over 40 Pinoys face 25 years in UAE jail over drug-related charges

Over 40 Filipinos are currently in jail in the United Arab Emirates over drug-related charges, a report on "Balitanghali" said Monday.
The report said these Filipinos are incarcerated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Northern Emirates.
Under UAE laws, drug convicts are usually sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment.
The report quoted Consul General Paul Raymond Cortes as saying that despite their repeated warnings, many Filipinos in the UAE still choose to use or sell illegal drugs. —KBK, GMA News
