DFA assists in return of 3 Pinays killed in Dubai
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine consulate is coordinating with Dubai authorities on the repatriation of the bodies of three Filipino women who were killed in a vehicular accident there on Sunday.
Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Claro Cristobal confirmed to GMANews.TV the death of three Filipinas working under the Abu Dhabi National Hotels/ Compass Company.
Cristobal also said that based on the report by Philippine consul general in Dubai Benito Valeriano two other Filipinos - both male- were critically injured and brought to the Rashid Hospital.
An earlier report from online news site the Khaleej Times mentioned that two other Filipinos were rushed to the hospital. One was discharged shortly after receiving treatment while the other is in critical condition and remains in the ICU. The two were not identified.
In an interview with Gulf News, Filipino media coordinator Carlos Marcelo identified the three Filipinas as Cecile, Ethel and Michelle.
According to Marcelo, he last saw Cecile and Ethel laughing and dancing at the Ritazza coffee shop located at the Spectrum Building in Bur Dubai where they apparently also worked. - GMANews.TV
