Pinay faces 5-year jail time in Dubai for forgery –report
A Filipina travel consultant in the United Arab Emirates is facing up to five years in jail for forgery, a report on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali" said Monday.
Citing the Philippine Consulate in Dubai, the report said the Filipina was accused of selling fake e-visas to those who want to go to Dubai as tourists.
It said one victim, who is also a Filipina, claimed she paid over P700,000 to the suspect during a transaction.
The report also said the suspect, whom it did not identify, did not refute the allegation.
The suspect is set to be sentenced on Thursday, May 28.
According to the Philippine Consulate, this was the first case of forgery filed against a Filipina in Dubai. —KBK, GMA News
