Missing Fil-Am student found dead in California
A Filipino-American student who has been missing for almost a month was found dead in Vallejo, California.
The body of Kevin Redrico, 23, was found on April 29, or weeks after he went missing on April 5, according to his brother Jonathan's post on social media.
Redrico's body was found after "a tireless month of wondering, waiting, searching, and hoping" by teams of volunteers, search and rescue professionals, private investigators, K-9 units, CHiPS, and US Coast Guard vessels, his brother said.
"Throughout his entire life, Kevin has had the support of countless friends and family that form a compassionate and strong community. If there was one beautiful moment to come out of this storm, it would be in seeing this community come together to help bring Kevin back home," Jonathan said.
A report on NBC said the San Jose State University music student was last seen April 5 when he left his cellphone and car near the Benicia Bridge.
Glenn, Redrico's father, said his son took anti-depressants to cope with a "personal relationship problem" but believes his son would not do anything drastic.
Jonathan said he could not tell Kevin's "mental state" but worried for his safety due to the weather.
Redrico's cause of death was still unknown as of May 5.
His family asked his friends to share their fondest memories of him, dedicate a performance at the celebration of what was supposed to be his 24th birthday, or to sing at his funeral mass to commemorate his memory. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
