Pinoy teacher charged over lewd text messages to Illinois teen

A Filipino teacher in Shorewood, Illinois, has been charged over his alleged indecent behavior toward a teenage girl, reports said.
Lemuel Elechion was charged of grooming for sending "inappropriate" text messages to a 13-year-old girl with whom he was allegedly trying to establish a physical relationship, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
According to state law, grooming occurs when a person knowingly uses a device or online service "capable of electronic data storage or transmission to seduce, solicit, lure or entice" a child.
report on Joliet Patch said Elechion, a teacher at Trinity Christian School, sent messages that indicated he rubbed the thighs of the teen, whom he had touched while eating lunch at a fast-food restaurant.
The complaint against the teacher also accused him of rubbing the teen's thigh under a blanket while watching a movie at the home of other Trinity Christian School students.
In other messages, the 51-year-old told the girl he "enjoyed rubbing" her thighs and told her he wanted to touch her lips again. He reportedly told the girl he is "so in love" with her, and is jealous of people who spend time with her
report on Herald News said Elechion, who moved to the US with his family when he was an elementary school student, was a middle school science and biblical creationism teacher who attended Faith Baptist Biblical College in Ankeny, Iowa.
His Educator Pages page, now deactivated, also stated that he served in "Christian school ministry" for 26 years and was in his 12th year with Trinity Christian School.
Elechion is currently out of jail on a $10,000 bail and was placed on administrative leave by school administrators. Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
