Filipinos gathered at the Philippine Embassy in Israel on April 30 for the annual celebration of Labor Day and Flores De Mayo at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv.
According to the Philippine Embassy, 250 individuals and 22 Filipino community organizations and groups participated in the event that featured a sagala of 32 pairs of adults and children clad in traditional Filipiniana attire and sporting floral arches.
Children and adults alike participated in a “balagtasan” on the virtues of “sipag” versus “talino,” a bevy of traditional dances, and songs for the celebrations themed "Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago."
Philippine Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial welcomed guests and encouraged Filipino workers in Israel to "persevere and to continue to promote the good relationship between the  two countries by valuing their work in Israel."
Labor Attache Rodolfo Gabasan also read a message from Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III addressed to the Filipino community in Israel. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
