DOLE already has leads on Demafelis' recruiter in Iloilo

While the Labor department is still facing a blank wall on the whereabouts of the Lebanese-Syrian couple suspected of killing and stuffing OFW Joanna Demafelis inside a freezer, authorities already have leads to the victim's recruiter in Iloilo.
In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB's "Dobol B sa News TV," Bello said that they have already the name of the person who introduced Demafelis to the agency that sent her to Kuwait.
"Na-identify na yung agency na nagpadala sa kanya, pati na yung tao na  nagpakilala sa kanya sa agency," Bello said.
Earlier reports indicated that Philippine authorities are in cooperation with the Interpol to track down Demafelis' employers, who have fled Kuwait after the killing.
Also he said that the Kuwaiti government has expressed readiness to sign a memorandum of agreement for the protection of OFWs in the Gulf state.
"Handa na sila, and Kuwait officials, sa pakikipag-usap ... negotiations are set on February 28 and by first week of March the MOU will be signed," Bello said.
An MOU for OFWs' protection is one of the preconditions for the lifting of the total ban on the deployment of Filipino workers to Kuwait.
Following reports of abuses against OFWs in the Gulf state, which had led to scores of deaths of Filipino expats especially household service workers, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the Department of Labor and Employment headed by Bello to impose a temporary deployment ban.
And upon the discovery of Demafelis' body stuffed in a freezer in an abandoned apartment in Kuwait, Duterte ordered a total deployment ban to the Gulf state. —LBG, GMA News
