Czech Republic may soon hire 1,000 skilled workers from PHL

Czech Republic may soon need skilled workers from the Philippines, GMA News' JP Soriano reported on Balitanghali on Monday, citing the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
According to the POEA, the Philippines and Czech Republic are currently hammering out an agreement where the European country may hire some 1,000 skilled Filipino workers.
The application process, it said, will be through accredited Philippine recruitment agencies.
"We are able to come out with an agreement na magkakaroon ng deployment through the private sector," said Bernardo Olalia, administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
He said deployment may start once clear guidelines are issued.
The report said there are no job orders yet, but Filipino workers are encouraged to regularly visit the POEA website for announcements.
Interested applicants, meanwhile, are advised to undergo skills training at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
"Eto po ang nagiging tulay para makapag-abroad sila," said Marc Bello, head trainer at TESDA. —KBK, GMA News
