Search for outstanding OFW family launched in Saudi Arabia
The Philippine Consulate General and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, through the Social Welfare Attaché in Jeddah, launched the search for the 2018 Huwarang Overseas Pamilya Pilipino Award (HOPPA) in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.
Consul General Edgar Badajos said in an interview on Thursday that the Huwarang Overseas Pamilya Pilipino Award is open to all Filipino family living in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.
He said through the project, the Consulate aims "to recognize and pay tribute to outstanding Filipino families in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia in terms of having maintained strong family ties, demonstrated Filipino customs and traditions and created a big impact in the community in which they live despite the challenges of being a part of the Filipino diaspora."
Badajos said that any OFW or Filipino Community Organization in the Western Region could nominate an OFW Family for the award.
The winner will receive a Plaque of Recognition, a cash award and other incentives on the Family Week in the last week of September 2018.
Badajos said all nomination with supporting documents must be submitted in the office of the Social Welfare Attaché office at the Philippine Consulate on or before August 26, 2018.
Badajos said those who want to participate or nominate a family could get the official nomination form from the Philippine Consulate website or at the office of the Social Welfare Attaché located at the second floor, building 4 of the Philippine Consulate. —Ronald Concha/KBK, GMA News
