Filipina taken hostage and killed by ex-boyfriend in Las Vegas, Nevada By GMA Integrated News
A Filipina was killed after being abducted and taken hostage by her ex-boyfriend in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) report.
Rizza Abrera was taken by force from a nail salon in Southwest Las Vegas by the suspect, identified as Steven Robert Evans.
According to reports, the suspect had a gun as he dragged the Filipina inside his car.
Authorities, however, were able to trace Evans' vehicle to his apartment, where a standoff ensued.
A SWAT team was able to penetrate the apartment. But once inside, they saw that both the victim and suspect were already dead.
According to the LVMPD, Evans died from a "self-inflicted gunshot wound."
Authorities are still investigating the motive of the suspect.
Abrera is survived by her four children. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
