Filipino nurses in Saudi get salary increase

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia has recently approved the
increase of salary for Filipino nurses.
Administrator Rosalinda Dimapilis‐Baldoz said that effective March 19, 2008,
depending on the area of specialization, Filipino nurses employed by the Saudi
Ministry of Health shall enjoy a 20% – 60% increase in salary. The present
salary of nurses in MOH ranges from SR2,250 to SR4,000.
Mr. Fahad Al‐Msaibeeh, Employment Attache of the KSA Embassy in Manila
disclosed that the increase in salary applies only to Filipino nurses and not to all
foreign nurses hired by the MOH‐KSA.
Baldoz lauded the decision of the Saudi government, which she said is an
indication of the continuing preference of the said country for nurses coming
from the Philippines.
A delegation from the MOH is presently conducting the interview of nurses until
12 March 2008. Qualified applicants can register at the POEA for immediate
endorsement to the Saudi Recruitment Office and interview by the delegation.
The MOH remains to be among the top employers of Filipino nurses in Saudi
Arabia, providing employment opportunities to even those without work
experience.
