Trinidad and Tobago to deport 23 Pinoy workers
MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-three Filipinos who have been illegally working in Trinidad and Tobago will be deported, a report said on Tuesday.
A report by the Trinidad and Tobago Express quoted the Philippine Embassy as saying that the 23 Filipino nationals, who have been detained at the maximum security prison in Arouca, for illegally working in the country will be sent home.
The report said the illegal workers include one woman civil engineer and 22 men.
It said they were arrested by customs officials one month ago while working in a construction company in Trinidad and Tobago and were taken to the town Golden Grove, while being investigated by the Ministry of National Security.
The Express said the workers are still waiting for their airline tickets to London, Hong Kong, and to the Philippines, all of which are being paid for by the Trinidad and Tobago government. - GMANews.TV
