DFA: Pinoys in Oman to benefit from new flights to Clark
Filipinos in Oman stand to benefit from new flights from Muscat to Clark International Airport in Pampanga, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
The DFA said the Philippine Embassy in Muscat reported the direct flights from Doha in Qatar to Clark in Pampanga starting Oct. 27.
"The plan of some Middle East-based airlines, including Qatar Airways, to fly directly to ClarkInternational Airport will benefit the Filipinos in Oman," it said.
It said Qatar Airways Country Manager for Oman Joe Rajadurai called on and informed Philippine Charge d’Affaires Hjayceelyn Quintana of the direct flights.
Quintana welcomed the development, saying this will provide Filipinos more travel options and will further boost Philippine trade and tourism.
The DFA said flights from Muscat in Oman to Doha in Qatar usually take one hour and eight minutes.
On the other hand, the DFA said Clark International Airport is eyed as the next premier international gateway of the Philippines.
