POEA bars officials, employees from receiving gifts
Officials and employees of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) have been barred from accepting gifts from individuals and groups transacting with them.
In a memorandum issued August 30, 2013, POEA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac informed private recruitment agencies, suppliers, contractors and other parties that a “no-gift policy” has been implemented in the agency.
He said this is a reiteration of the policy stipulated in the memorandum issued on November 12, 2012.
“This means that the any gift, in cash or in kind, for our officials and employees including casual and contractual personnel coming from your end will not be accepted,” part of the memorandum read.
Cacdac said that those who will be found accepting gifts will face disciplinary action.
