7 undocumented Pinoys return from Saudi
Seven undocumented Filipinos returned from Saudi Arabia Wednesday night, state-run television reported on Thursday.
A report on PTV-4 said the seven arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport aboard an Etihad Airways flight.
The report also said the Philippine Embassy has endorsed the processing of more than 700 Filipinos so they can return home as well.
Saudi authorities had given illegal foreign workers, including Filipinos, until early November last year to return home or rectify their status.
After the Nov. 3, 2013 deadline lapsed, Saudi authorities have cracked down on illegal foreign workers.
The Philippine Embassy earlier reported that as of Jan. 24, 2014, the Consulate was able to repatriate a total of 7,177 Pinoys from Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the report said Saudi authorities have begun removing the tents set up by some of the Filipinos near the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah.
For its part, the Department of Foreign Affairs appealed to OFWs in the tent city to seek help from the embassy and stay at temporary shelters. — with Andrei Medina/RSJ, GMA News
