Pinoys in Yemen to get ‘discounted’ rates for immigration penalties

Filipinos in Yemen may avail of discounted rates for immigration penalties, the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia said over the weekend.

The embassy, which has consular jurisdiction over Yemen, said Filipinos who have immigration penalties should contact the office of the Philippine Honorary Consul.

"Under this scheme, Filipinos may avail of the 85-percent discounted rate, which means that he/she will only pay 15 percent of his/her total immigration penalties," it said in its advisory posted Monday.

The embassy said the discounted rates were recently approved by the Ministry of Interior of Yemen.

It said Filipinos in Yemen who have outstanding immigration penalties may contact the Office of the Philippine Honorary Consul in Yemen at the Philippine Consulate in Sana’a at Hadda Area Damascus Street, Sana’a.

They may also contact it via:

Fax: (+967-1) 418 264
Telephone: (+967-1) 425 277 or 416 751
Email: sanaa@philembassy-riyadh.org

Feedback or comments on the scheme may be sent to ofwsinyemen@gmail.com or via CMT Sana’a’s hotline no. +967 735 275 791, the embassy said. — RSJ, GMA News
