MANILA - A Filipino worker in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was allegedly killed by a Filipino colleague, local media reported.
The victim, identified only as 60-year-old KT, was allegedly hit by the suspect with a piece of metal, following an argument in a labor camp in Sharjah's Industrial Zone No.7 on Tuesday morning, according to Emirates 24/7.
The suspect, 40-year-old JO, was arrested by Sharjah police in Dubai within three hours of the crime.
The suspect immediately fled to Dubai supposedly to seek treatment for his hand, which was wounded due to the piece of metal he used to hit the victim.
He was planning to hide in Dubai before trying to flee the UAE, authorities said.
According to police, the suspect admitted killing his colleague because of differences between them.
Meanwhile, the remains of the victim have been transferred to the forensic medicine department.
