Philippine HK office’s FB page ‘mysteriously’ goes offline
HONG KONG—The Philippine Consulate General's Facebook page has gone offline "mysteriously" and for nearly two weeks visitors cannot access it, according to officials.
Philippine officials on Sunday said they continue to try to get in touch with the social media giant's management but have so far failed to get a positive feedback, except for an auto-reply.
Also, they claimed that the consulate's Facebook page had over 100,000 followers because it had been a useful tool to disseminate information, reminders, and announcements to some 200,000 Filipinos in Hong Kong.
Moreover, they said the Philippine consulate's Facebook account had been a go-to site for Filipinos needing information and reminders on various concerns, including advisories on online investment scams victimizing overseas Filipino workers.
PCG officials said they might create another page soon if they still would not hear from Facebook.
