Remains of OFW to arrive in Cebu from UAE

The remains of the Filipina domestic helper killed by a coworker in the United Arab Emirates are expected to arrive in the Philippines Friday.

Joanna Minangga's body will be immediately brought to her home in Negros Occidental from the Mactan Cebu International Airport, according to a report on "Unang Balita" on Friday morning.

Minangga was killed by a Sri Lankan coworker last July but the return of her remains had been delayed after her employer refused to cooperate with authorities, said Vice Cosul Ryan Pondoc of the Philippine consulate office in the UAE.

Minangga's family has appealed for assistance from the Philippine government to give the victim a decent burial. — LBG, GMA News
