Pinoy nabbed in Indonesia over unlicensed firearm
Indonesian police arrested last week a Filipino for possessing a
.38 mm caliber revolver without the necessary permit in central Indonesia,
according to a report on Jakarta Post.
Identified as RQG alias Bobong, the Filipino was arrested after
a tip-off by his neighbors in Teling village, Tombariri, Minhasa.
Sec. Insp. Johnny Kreysen, Tomohon Police spokesperson, said
Bobong was caught Wednesday last week after days of searching along the
coastline of the Talaud Islands by a team of detectives.
Bobong originated from General Santos City in the Philippines
and lived in Mahawi village in Tuminting, Manado, before moving to Teling.
Police said the revolver they seized from Bobong had two bullets
and was allegedly brought from the Philippines.
Tomohon police turned Bobong over to the North Sulawesi Police
headquarters in Manado for further questioning.
Police are investigating the Bobong's possible connection to a
larger criminal ring, the report said. —Rie Takumi/KBK,
