Germany to hike minimum wage for Filipino nurses

Filipino nurses working in Germany under the 'Triple Win' program will be given an increase in minimum wage, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the POEA said the German government announced the wage adjustments during the 5th Joint Committee Meeting.
The Triple Win Project is a government-to-government project between German Federal Republic and the Philippines. It is supervised by the POEA.
According to the POEA, the nurses who were interviewed and have signed employment contracts as of January 1, 2019, will receive 2,000 euros before recognition as a qualified nurse in Germany and 2,400 euros after.
The previous minimum wage rates were at 1,900 euros and 2,300 euros previously. —Kaela Malig/NB, GMA News
