Comelec reminds Pinoys abroad: Overseas voting period starts April 13, 2019

The absentee voting period for the midterm elections will begin on Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded overseas Filipino voters.
This month-long window for overseas voters will end on the actual election day in the Philippines on May 13, 2019.
According to Mariz Umali's Balitanghali report on Tuesday, there are a total of 1,822,173 overseas absentee voters for this year's elections, and over 87,000 of them are in Hong Kong.
The Philippine Consul in Hong Kong has gathered leaders of Filipino communities and asked them to remind their members about their responsibilities.
Vice Consul Bob Quintin also explained that they will oversee the counting of votes from other locations such as Shanghai, Mongolia and Macau.
"Ang Hong Kong po ang magiging sentro," he said. — Margaret Claire Layug/BM, GMA News
