VCMs in Singapore ready for overseas voting
Vote counting machines (VCMs) to be used by thousands of Pinoy voters in Singapore have officially been declared ready for the overseas absentee voting period, which will begin on Saturday.
More than 75,000 Filipinos in Singapore are expected to cast their votes during the 30-day window which runs from April 13 until election day on May 13.
According to a report on News to Go on Wednesday, poll officials have finished conducting the final testing and sealing (FTS) of the VCMs in Singapore.
Apart from four VCMs set to be used, polling posts in Singapore have units in reserve.
Each unit was tested with sample ballots and loaded with new SD cards before being sealed off. Poll officials also set the vote count back to zero before the media.
Precincts will be closed on Maundy Thursday (April 18) and Good Friday (April 19), the report said. — Margaret Claire Layug/BM, GMA News
