House leader and former president endorses Bong Go.

BARELY a week after visiting Porac, Pampanga to assist  earthquake victims, former Special Assistant to the President and 2019 senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Friday went back, going around key areas of the province in a motorcade and attending gatherings of community leaders.
Go earlier accompanied President Rodrigo Duterte for the ocular inspection of the damage caused by the earthquake in Porac town. He had assured the people of Pampanga that the government would extend to them all available assistance.
Go expressed his gratitude for the display of support he received from the people of the province, noting that many residents came out in  the streets, cheering him, waving back at him and even taking selfie as his convoy passed by the streets of Angeles City, Mabalacat, San Fernando, Bacolor and Mexico.
Go said he would go around the country until the last minute of the campaign period but not only to pursue his candidacy. More important to him, according to Go, is the opportunity to meet the people, hear their concerns, and leave a smile on their faces.
During a meeting in Angeles City, Go thanked the leaders of the province and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for her endorsement and support.
Maraming salamat Ma’am,” Go said, addressing Arroyo.
Arroyo lauded the big help of Malasakit Center to the victims of the Luzon earthquake, particularly in Porac. She noted that Go has assured the victims that if the PhilHealth insurance could not cover cost of their treatment, the Malasakit Center would help to pay the balance.
Go vowed to continue serving the Filipino people, including the people of Pampanga.
Among others, Go noted that since Malasakit Center has proven its worth in the Porac tragedy, he aims to expand and continue the program of the Duterte administration.
Currently, there are 34 Malasakit Centers serving various areas of the country.
Likewise, Go said he would help President Duterte press the campaign against the scourge of criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
Patuloy ko pong susuportahan iyon,” Go said.
Likewise, Go said he would push for the welfare of village officials through a Magna Carta for Barangay Officials.
He said they deserve better benefits considering the kind of service they provide to their constituents. Go said he is also looking at the possibility of extending the term of incumbent barangay officials. He noted that their term was cut short because of previous postponement of barangay elections.
Other priority concerns under Go’s legislative agenda include programs to boost agriculture, education, long-term sports development, housing for the poor, fire protection and prevention, localized peace talks, creation of a Department of OFW and improved benefits for senior citizens.
