CBCP: PHL to be represented at Myanmar intl meeting of various religions
The Philippines will be represented in an international inter-faith youth meeting on peace issues in Yangon, Myanmar from February 21 to 22, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said on Wednesday.
CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth executive secretary Fr. Conegundo Garganta will be an observer-learner at the meeting of the Religions for Peace Asia and the Pacific Interfaith Youth Network Regional Pre-Assembly Meeting.
Garganta will be oriented on how the group Religions for Peace promotes peace through youth networks.
"They would like to welcome to the Religions for Peace the presence of one [group] from a country that is majority Christian Catholic. Wala pang ganon," Garganta said in a CBCP news release.
Similar meetings will be held in six other continents as a preparatory step before the 9th Religions for Peace World Assembly.
