Pinoy painter Paul Gustilo holds art exhibit in Kuala Lumpur
Filipino painter Paul Gustilo held his first overseas exhibit at the Art Square Gallery in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur on February 20, the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said.
An Iloilo native, Gustilo showcased nine artworks during the exhibit featuring Malaysian and foreign artists.
According to a news release of the Department of Foreign Affairs, two of Gustilo's paintings were sold even before the exhibit opened.
Since he ventured into art in 1887,Gusto has had around 20 solo and group art exhibits in the Philippines in venues such as the Heritage Gallery in SM Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza mall, and the Ayala Mall in Cebu.
He considers the Kuala Lumpur exhibit as his first foray into foreign shores. His paintings portrayed different Malaysian landscapes and sceneries.
Among those who were present during the exhibut were Minister and Consul General Medardo G. Macaraig, Third Secretaries and Vice Consuls Johann Veronica Andal and John Francis Herrera and Cultural Attache Helen Grace Cuisia. - VVP, GMA News
